Society for advancement research training & health interventions (Sarthi), is a social impact initiative spearheaded by Tewari Group which was founded with the sole purpose of educating and empowering the girl child. Sarthi provides a safe haven for young girls to pursue their education while imparting life skills and a sense of self worth and importance which they are commonly denied living in the rural areas of the state of Uttarakhand, India. The entire foundation runs on Gandhian Principals. It has been our mission to provide our girls with the education, life skills and confidence that they need in order to overcome the social stigmas that are involved with being born a girl, something that has been widely documented in Indian society.
Young girls aged 10 and above from a weak social and economic background are provided accommodation, food, health care, a formal education (up to post-graduation), vocational training and other basic amenities absolutely free of cost at our centre in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand.
Our objective is to facilitate learning not only in a formal setting but also through non formal education so that each girl child acquires and maintains the skills, abilities and temperament needed to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
